The M.F.O. (Multinational Force and Observers) is a creation of the "Camp David Accord" signaling an end to the Egyptian-Israeli War.  This non-United Nations force is composed of ten nations and a number of financial contributors whose task is to monitor and report the military situation along the Egypt-Israel border.

Re-uping while in the Sinai

Two U.S. Army soldiers serving with the M.F.O. enjoying a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.

Considered by some soldiers to be "easy duty," the MFO affords many once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to visit both Egypt and Israel, especially the ancient Holy Land sites. I took the photos (except the satellite shots - duh!) on this website while stationed there on two tours between 1995 - 98.
